Team India To Take Part in Three Four-Day Matches in UK Ahead of England Test Series

India’s recent defeats against Australia (1-3) and New Zealand (0-3) have forced the BCCI to make critical decisions. These include implementing stricter guidelines for the players and scheduling a number of matches to make them play better. For instance, the board has decided to organize three four-day matches in the United Kingdom. These will be played before India plays Test matches against England.

The Dates and Stadiums are Being Discussed

The three four-day matches will help Indian players get a feel for the specifics of red-ball cricket. The dates of the clashes against the England Lions (as well as the stadiums that will host them) are not yet known. But these events are planned to take place in the UK after the Indian Premier League final, which is, as a reminder, scheduled for May 25.

In his commentary, a BCCI source recalled that the Indian team had a similar tour before participating in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The three four-day matches should help the Indian players adapt to English conditions and play red-ball cricket. As the source said, it is not easy to play in England, so the BCCI’s decision should benefit the team.
