Suryakumar Yadav on CT 2025 Exclusion: Acceptance and Focus on T20Is
The BCCI recently announced the Indian squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will start in UAE and Pakistan in February. The Indian team aims to regain its status as the best squad in the world after recent setbacks against New Zealand and Australia. It has been decided not to include Suryakumar Yadav, who captains India’s T20I team, in the roster.

Yadav Understands Reasons For Not Being Included In Roster
Suryakumar Yadav commented for the journalists on the selector’s decision not to include him in the Indian CT team. As the player said, he is upset but realizes that the reason for this was probably his poor performances in the ODIs. It hurts him to think that he didn’t do well. But Suryakumar is not resentful but “accepts the decision”.
Focus on the T20I Series
Suryakumar also expressed his support for the players included in the Indian roster for CT. He said they earned this privilege due to their ODI and domestic cricket success. According to Yadav, the team looks very strong. Every player in the squad is a good performer and focused on teamwork. He particularly singled out bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, calling them a “lethal combo.”
Yadav is now focused on India’s performance in the T20I format matches against England. He will captain and lead the squad in these five matches. Officials expect the player’s experience to help the national team set up a winning attitude ahead of major tournaments.
