Sitanshu Kotak will Become the Batting Coach for India
The experienced Sitanshu Kotak will strengthen the Indian National Cricket Team’s coaching line-up. He will be the batting coach for the upcoming T20I clashes with England. India will play five matches against this team, the first of which is scheduled for Wednesday, January 22.

Famous Player and Trainer
Kotak is currently 52 years old. He ended his storied career as a player in 2013. Sitanshu played for over 20 years in the batter’s position, including captaining Saurashtra. Since 2019, he has worked as the National Cricket Academy (NCA) batting coach. Since 2019, the specialist has captained India on several A tours. He has also been VVS Laxman’s assistant for white-ball bilateral engagements.
Attempt to Change the Situation
The decision to appoint Kotak as one of the assistants to Gautam Gambhir is interlinked with the team’s recent results. It lost to New Zealand (0-3) in the Test series and Australia (1-3) in the recent BGT. Much of the poor results are due to the decline in the playing form of Indian batters. According to insiders, batting was one of the main topics of discussion at the BCCI review meeting in Mumbai. Gambhir also attended it, whose future is in serious doubt, as experts think.
It is worth noting that the BCCI has also issued new, strict guidelines for players in response to the team’s poor performance. These are aimed in particular at banning sharing with families during tours and requiring players to travel on the team bus. Officials believe these measures will help increase player concentration.
