Rohit Sharma Will Captain India for England ODIs and CT
The BCCI unveiled that Rohit Sharma will continue to captain the Indian team. This means that the star player will lead it in the soon-to-be ODI clashes against England and at the ICC Champions Trophy. This prestigious tournament starts on February 20. India’s first opponent is Bangladesh. It will also play against Pakistan and New Zealand.

Fitness Problems
Rohit, 37, did not participate in the fifth and final Test of BGT. But that does not mean that his career is over. The fact is that the player has problems with his fitness, which has affected his recent performances. For example, in the recent series against New Zealand (0-3), Sharma scored only 91 points in six matches. He averaged 15.16 points per game. His numbers in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy have decreased even more severely (to 6.20) in five clashes.
The player is determined to be ready for the upcoming matches. Therefore, he joined the Mumbai squad for training.
India’s Ambitious Plans
India has participated in six ODIs since November 19, 2023. Now, the team can win the ODI world title at the CT. According to the schedule, all three squad matches will be played in Dubai. This city will also host one of the semifinals and possibly the title match.
