ICC CT 2025: India’s Roster Unveiled
On January 18, the Indian roster for the much-awaited ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was revealed. BCCI unveiled the names of 15 cricketers who will travel to Dubai to play against Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand.

The Line-up Without Karun Nair
Officials have decided not to include veteran batter Karun Nair in the line-up despite his impressive results at the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The player has 752 runs to his credit. Commenting on the decision, BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar Lauded regretted that including all players in the roster was impossible. Thus, these players will be traveling to the CT:
- Jasprit Bumrah;
- Shubman Gill;
- Shreyas Iyer;
- Ravindra Jadeja;
- Yashasvi Jaiswal;
- Virat Kohli;
- Hardik Pandya;
- Rishabh Pant;
- Axar Patel;
- KL Rahul;
- Mohammed Shami;
- Rohit Sharma;
- Arshdeep Singh;
- Washington Sundar;
- Kuldeep Yadav.
Sharma is the team captain, and Gill was named vice-captain. Bumrah has been included in the roster despite his fitness problems, so the officials are confident that the player can recover in time. Rohit Sharma pointed out that if Jasprit is not ready, other guys, such as Arshdeep Singh, can replace him.
It’s Been Eight Years
The previous CT was held eight years ago. This time, it will be hosted by UAE and Pakistan. India will play all its group matches in Dubai. The team’s first opponent is Bangladesh, and the clash is scheduled for February 20.
All the remaining games after the group stage will be played on Pakistani territory. Three arenas will host them.
On Saturday, the BCCI also revealed the ODI roster for the England series. These three matches will be the team’s preparation for Dubai. The only difference was the inclusion of Harshit Rana in the roster.
