Bumrah to Prove Fitness in Crucial ODI Against England Before Champions Trophy Challenge
India has high hopes for the upcoming ODI matches against England. These games will be played in early February. They are essential in the team’s preparation for the Champions Trophy. But their importance for the national squad lies in more than that. It is expected that one of the team’s star players, Jasprit Bumrah, will be able to take part in the third game to assess his fitness. This game is scheduled to be played on February 12. The first and second matches are scheduled for Feb. 6 and Feb. 9, respectively.

Harshit Rana in the Backup Role
Earlier, BCCI announced that Bumrah has been included in India’s squad for both ODI matches and CT 2025. Due to a back spasm, he is having fitness issues. The team’s medical staff will assess the player’s condition to see if he can help the national team. He will be replaced by Delhi fast bowler Harshit Rana in the first and second ODI matches.
BCCI hopes Bumrah will be Able to Play
The medics have advised the BCCI to give Bumrah a rest for five weeks (starting from the first few days of January). After that, they will take a new scan of his back to assess his recovery progress and see if Jasprit can play. Ajit Agarkar, the chairman of selectors, confirmed this information. He also emphasized that the officials are very hopeful that Bumrah can help India. If the results of the medical tests are disappointing, the BCCI will discuss what to do next.
